About us – Nzinstantbanking

Paying for a bet is the question this site starts from: how money reaches a betting account in New Zealand, and what the law around that account says. Bets are not taken, tips are not sold and winnings are not promised, because a certain win does not exist.

What is not done here

Money is neither received nor passed on. No payment method is endorsed, and the site makes no claim about which method a provider accepts. Statutory payment rules for betting accounts are not established, so descriptions stay general.

Only one provider is lawful in New Zealand, so no register of licensed bookmakers exists. TAB NZ, through TAB and Betcha, has been the sole provider of racing and sports betting for people in New Zealand since 28 June 2025. The Department of Internal Affairs, the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025 are the evidence. No overseas bookmaker has a licence here, and the Department says an overseas company offering these bets is breaking the law, with the legal burden on the operator and not the punter. A ranking is no licence.

Source handling

Terms, help pages and footers of the provider supply provider facts; statutes and public bodies supply the law. Offers and methods change quickly, so a stated figure carries its time and place, and a gap in the sources is described in words.

Who it is for

Adults only: betting with TAB NZ is open from 18, and nothing here is legal or tax advice. The Gambling Helpline and Safer Gambling Aotearoa are there for anyone who finds betting taking too much space.
